For the past months the members of DI-RECT have been spending their time seraching for a new lead singer. After Tim Akkerman decided to quit the band, it was up to the three other band members to take on this heavy job. The BNN-programme Who is DI-RECT gave an insight vision of the search of DI-RECT for a new lead singer.

In a packed Paard the last two singers, Marcel & Sven, gave all they had to make it to victory. During the finals of Who is DI-RECT?, presented by Coen Swijnenburg and Sander Lantinga, it was up to Jamie, Spike & Bas to make the final decision. After many months of insecurity, the band is finally complete again and can move on to a new episode in their career.

Together with Marcel Veenendaal key player Vince van Reeken is now officially part of DI-RECT. After an intensive cooperation as a co-writer en key player, Vince is now a fullworthy band member of DI-RECT, naturally meaning that as of now DI-RECT consists out of 5 equal band members.

After their huge decision, DI-RECT did their new single ‘Times are Changing’ with the new band formation. Their single can be downloaded as of right now and will be physically available as of Tuesday. DI-RECT will soon go back into the studio to work on a new album that is expected to be released at the beginning of 2010. The first official show with Marcel will be on Newyears Night during the National Newyears Night in Rotterdam that will be broadcasted live by RTL5. DI-RECT will do a show on the biggest floating stage in Europe at the Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam that night.
